State Flag Information
The intent of this section of our Web site is to provide information on the different state flags that are currently in existence. Certain state flags have been hoisted on flag poles for a longer time than others. Certain designs have remained unchanged whilst others seem to always change.
It is important to note that before independence was achieved, the colonies each had their respective seal and some also had a coat of arms. None of the colonies had a colonial flag. Over time, and through different sources of inspiration, state flags came into existence.
