1" Nylon balls are used on 4" up to 10" Rings.
Alternating 1" and 2" Nylon balls are used on 12" and 14" Rings.
Retainer Rings size is listed by Flagpole Diameter.

Retainer Rings are used to keep the flag close to the Flagpole and aid in raising and lowering your flag. They also reduce the strain on the Flag Grommets. These beaded rings are made with nylon balls strung onto a stainless steel aircraft cable, with thimbles and copper crimps at each end, and one quick link.
