The Armenian Tricolor, consists of three horizontal bands of equal width, red on top, blue in the middle, and orange on the bottom. The symbolism of the colors have been interpreted in many different ways. But many agree that the red stands for the bled shed by the Armenian soldiers in war, blue stands for the Armenian sky, and orange stands for the fertile lands of Armenia and the workers who work them. The Supreme Council adopted the current flag on August 24, 1990.
